Quick review of Canon Zoemini photo printer.
My latest photography gadget.
I love living in this technological, digital age. The idea of being able to communicate, watch, read, listen, and enjoy so much whilst out and about is indeed one of the joys of modern living.
I share a great deal of my photographic content on social media, quite often editing and posting my images when I am away from home. However, recently I have thought about the possibility of being able to print and give hard copy images to, say, my grandkids, a little playful reminder of a day out. There are a number of mobile photo printers on the market, and after a bit of research I opted for the Canon Zoemini smartphone photo printer, which at around £120 wasn't the cheapest.
When it arrived it was easy to set up. Install the app on your phone, charge the device, connect it to your phone by Bluetooth, load the device up with its own photographic paper, and you're set to go.
Printing from your phone is easy, you just have to select which of your photo storage areas you want to connect to Canon (mine is Google photos).
The quality of the prints isn't brilliant if you're looking for that of a high-end non-portable photograph printer, but it's good enough for what I want to use it for.
Cost-wise each film works out at about 50p, which is acceptable to me.
All-in-all this device is a nice little addition to my photography armamentarium. It'll not be for those photography enthusiasts who are dedicated to producing printed images with authentic colour reproduction, but as a bit of fun kit, I like it.
The photos are 2x3 inches, so you get an idea of how big this slim device is. It will easily fit in your pocket or into a small bag.
The first photo I had to print using this printer had to be one of my wife, didn't it?
